What we need
  • Setup of selected accounting software (e.g. Aplos, Araize)
  • Training and guidelines on how to manage system and generate basic reports

I have volunteered to help Valley Friendship Club (VFC) get set up in Quickbooks. I have some experience with Quickbooks. My husband owns a small business and I run his Quickbooks and payroll. I am comfortable working within Quickbooks once things are set-up, but it has been years since I set up his company and he is not a non-profit... I want to make sure I do things right for VFC, and I want to make sure I am setting things up in the best possible way for a non-profit.

What we have in place
  • We currently have financial records recorded in Excel, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have bank statements and receipts, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $888 , allowing us to provide more programing for kids and young adults with disabilities.

Having our income and expenses recorded properly in quickbooks will allow us to engage in more effective strategic planning.

  • Volunteer Manager shares detailed description of existing financial record keeping and financial reporting system
  • Professional makes recommendations on accounting system reports to address the Organization's needs
  • Note: If necessary, Volunteer Manager may have Volunteer sign a Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) prior to sharing and discussing Organization’s financial information

Milestone 1: Implementation
  • Professional conducts financial data migration
  • Professional and Volunteer Manager check accuracy of migration
  • Professional sets up account admin privileges for Organization’s designated admin users

Milestone 2: Training & Handover
  • Professional provides basic training for Volunteer Manager and supporting staff for tracking and reporting needs including guidelines for continued use of system
  • Professional reviews above guidelines and tips with Volunteer Manager
  • Professional is available for up to two weeks to address questions as Volunteer Manager starts to adopt new bookkeeping system

We accomplish our purpose by empowering our members, by providing safe, accessible social and educational opportunities all while enhancing community connections.

What we do

VFC saw there was a need for an organization to provide this opportunity in a safe and accessible environment so our kids could practice social skills and gain the ability to develop lifelong friendships and connections - in short, to live fulfilled lives.
