Storytelling
Storytelling
Project details
What we need
- A compelling narrative, or set of stories
- Persuasive copy that can be used in appeals to donors, annual reports, grant applications, and media relations
- Popular examples: Organization's founding story, a program achievement or milestone, a look back at the past few years, organizational backgrounder, etc.
- Note: This project is not intended to support your general content planning or marketing but there are several projects in our Marketing & Communications category which are a good fit!
Additional details
We want to create a short video targeted for donors (individual, foundations, etc). We have somebody to do the video itself, but we need help creating the narrative/script. We expect to cover: the need, what we do, impact of funding. We would likely use snippets of interviews with the ED and other staff, people who have benefited from our work, and core funders/supporters. But we would want to provide them with talking points/script so the video is tight.
What we have in place
- We currently have grant proposals and other written documents, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have unscripted videos from last year, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,397 , allowing us to provide food, mentorship, scholarships and other support for immigrants and other underserved communities
We are conducting our second annual Gala and want to highlight our work through a video. It will also go on the website and be used at key times when engaging funders to increase our ability to convey the impact of our work.

Our mission
OUR MISSION
The Multicultural Center of Marin works with diverse immigrant and underserved communities of Marin County in advancing their social, cultural, and economic well-being through self-empowerment programs that encourage participation in the broader civic life of U.S. society.
What we do
In 2018, the Canal Welcome Center formally rebranded as the Multicultural Center of Marin. Today, we stand as a testament to the cultural wisdom and diversity that is inherent in the immigrant communities that make up Marin County.
Through training, mentorship, collaboration, and community organizing, the Multicultural Center of Marin provides the pathways and opportunities for people of these diverse communities to come together in strength. And by doing so, they become a wellspring for creating positive, community-rooted solutions throughout Marin County.
WHAT WE DO?
MCM has three main programatic areas:
Arts, Culture and Media
Youth & Family Empowerment
Community Resilience
