Project details

What we need
  • A concise, well-articulated letter (not exceeding two pages) to request funds from individual donors
Additional details

I have recently taken on the role of development within my organization with limited experience. We provide a myriad of services and I want to provide a concise letter that boils down what we do as an anti-trafficking organization into a compelling letter that will open the door to cultivating major donors or invitations for grant proposals. I want to tell our story in a way captures the attention of the reader quickly.

What we have in place
  • We currently have a fundraising plan, brochures, a website and social media that should help to familiarize you with our organization and its deliverables. I can fill in the gaps with institutional knowledge that is not written down anywhere. I believe I have access to a powerpoint from last year that contained metrics of our performance.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,440 , allowing us to spend more effort , energy and dollars on direct work with victims, and less on fundraising and administrative costs. Lower overhead means we have more money for direct victim care.

We are moving towards opening a home for trafficking victims. While we have been successful in getting grants, we have struggled in the area of obtaining major ongoing donors. This letter will be one of the first steps that would help us get the ongoing funding support needed to open a home for victims. We prefer not to get state and federal grants because we are a faith based organization and are smaller, and the cost of administering such a grant is more than we are willing to pay.

Our mission

Freekind exists to prevent human trafficking in our communities and to support those who have been exploited on their journey to freedom.

What we do

We achieve our mission through outreach & awareness, prevention education and direct survivor support. While we specialize in the crisis and stabilization of a trafficking victim's journey, we also collaborate with local and regional community partners to support clients as they transition toward a life of independence and freedom.

Testimonials

Gwen was very knowledgeable and professional. She not only helped with the project itself but provided me with the valuable fundraising knowledge that she had. The work product was excellent.
