Compensation Plan
Compensation Plan
Project details
What we need
- Review of job descriptions, pay structure, internal value, competitive market data, non-monetary rewards and benefits
- Recommendations for updating staff compensation and incentive plans
Additional details
ForWords Literacy Lab seeks support to evaluate our current staffing structure, pay scale and compliance. The questions we are asking are: *what benefits and salaries are applicable for each position; *are the job descriptions accurate in relation to the duties, responsibilities, and qualifications; *what are best practices to evaluate employees in a small non-profit such as ForWords; *how does our salary schedule compare to other local non-profits.
What we have in place
- We currently have Job descriptions, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have Staff, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $6,746 , allowing us to Spend our resources in direct services to the youth we teach.
We are a growing organization and are in the process of transitioning from hiring personnel as independent contractors to now, full employees. As we make this transition, we need outside HR support so that we can both sustain our organization while at the same time fairly compensating our staff.

Our mission
The mission of ForWords Literacy Lab is to provide 21st century literacy skills necessary for success in academics and in the work world. ForWords brings literacy development programs to underserved first generation students and their schools in the San Francisco Bay Area.
What we do
We provide both community and in-school programs in middle and high schools. Through classroom study and field experiences, we explore social, economic, and political causes of educational inequity in order to provide enriched English Language Literature curricula paired with technology and the arts. We work closely with classroom teachers to make sure these programs are sustainable and are aligned with the academic requirements of our local schools.
