Project details

What we need
  • Document outlining feedback on pitch delivery with suggested next steps and/or resources
  • A script for a 1-minute verbal pitch that communicates your Organization's mission, work, and why people should care
Additional details

My role is working with our volunteers and our donors through special events & marketing. I hope to create more concise and moving messaging about the WHY and the IMPACT of BBBS through a 1 minute verbal pitch (plus variations if possible). Need to give people a reason to take action, either to become a Big or to support via donations.

What we have in place
  • We currently have a website bigbrobigsis.com, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a national website bbbs.org, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,397 , allowing us to utilize those funds for training opportunity for 30 Bigs.

Sharing a meaningful message that inspires potential volunteers & donors to take action for our organization would increase our ability to succeed in supporting more Big & Little matches. Improving my communication skills through coaching session will allow me to spend more time asking, and less time prepping leading to better, bigger wins.

Our mission

Big Brothers Big Sisters provides children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever.

What we do

Big Brothers Big Sisters is a research-based, outcomes-oriented mentoring organization which drives relationships with a shared sense of purpose to reach goals: building socio-emotional competencies, increasing academic achievement, and avoiding/reducing risky behaviors. To achieve these goals, Big Brothers Big Sisters' core program is Community-Based Mentoring: traditional one-to-one mentoring during out-of-school time to allow youth to ignite and harness their own potential by building a positive relationship with an adult and engaging with the world around them. Bigs and Littles spend 9-12 hours per month together, clearing the path to the child's biggest possible future.
