Project details

What we need
  • Feedback on the current website’s layout, user functionality, mobile-friendliness, visual design, content, and other key features
  • Clear articulation of the Organization’s goals for the website
  • Recommendations for improvements to help achieve the Organization’s desired goals
  • Note: If you are looking for a more specific, in-depth audit of your website's design and usability, try our Website Usability Audit project
Additional details

I have been working to update content and visuals but recognize the need for updates in design, functionality, and other features.

What we have in place
  • We have a WordPress design and I have some knowledge on how to update some of the features. I am also working with a Catch-a-Fire volunteer to improve some of the general write ups.
How this will help
This project will save us $1,144 , allowing us to put much needed funds into repairing and enhancing our aging housing units. Dignity has 58 units of housing for homeless families and individuals.

The website is a key communication tool that helps us bring in volunteers and donors. It also is a resource of critical information for people who are experiencing homelessness or are on the brink of losing their home.

Our mission

Dignity Housing's mission is to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty that confronts low-income families and individuals in the city of Philadelphia. Dignity Housing breaks the cycle of homelessness by providing quality transitional and permanent supportive housing, promoting self-sufficiency, and creating opportunities.

What we do

Anchored by case management, Dignity offers a range of services to residents- including life skills development, employment, and education services, health and wellness supports, and housing placement services (for a successful transition to permanent housing). Additionally, Dignity provides educational activities for children and youth. Upon entering Dignity, case managers assess immediate needs for livable income, food, transportation, childcare, etc. and ensure appropriate action toward meeting these needs. They connect residents with benefits and work with them to develop short-term goals and action steps with paths to long-term self-sufficiency.

For homeless families and individuals, moving into a Dignity unit is often the first time in months that they have a safe place to sleep at night, without the stress of where they will sleep tomorrow. Dignity's 58 units of housing range from efficiency apartments to three-bedroom houses. Dignity's Property Management Department cares for the properties by performing ongoing maintenance, repairs and hiring experienced contractors when needed. Dignity staff works closely with all contractors to ensure everyone follows agency protocol and that tenants receive the highest quality service. Every unit has a kitchen with standard appliances, and our Alicia's House program (for domestic violence survivors) is fully furnished

Website Audit Project

I had a great time chatting with Jessica. She was open to suggestions and had some great questions right off the bat. She'll have my notes, and we'll be in touch if they have any future questions! Their site is well on its way!
