Project details

What we need
  • Initial assessment of areas of strength, targets for improvement and specific areas of focus desired for the coaching sessions
  • Up to 6 coaching sessions exploring areas such as motivation, empowerment, collaboration, communication, giving / receiving feedback & conflict management
  • Wrap-up session with actionable steps and advice moving forward as a manager
Additional details

CEF has a collaborative, flat-feeling, ethics-driven and empowerment-based culture. We are a growing 10 year old non-profit where co-founders and senior employees first took on supervisory responsibilities without having supervisory experience or training. We are looking to shore up management/supervisory skills (fitting with our org culture), and would love to connect with a volunteer with a commitment to/understanding of racial equity, power dynamics, and trauma lens.

What we have in place
  • A summer intern worked with us last year to interview staff team members and create a collated toolkit/guide to inform 1-on-1 supervisory meetings, which is a helpful starting tool. What feels missing is the implementation of structure and practices in 1-on-1 meetings and the growth of healthful ongoing mutual feedback-sharing.
How this will help
This project will save us $7,248 , allowing us to offer housing, employment, and financial empowerment support to more members of our community.

As we have grown, staff have named supervisory support as a critically important area where growth is needed. We desire to implement more robust supervisory practices that fit well with organizational culture with an equity/justice and trauma-sensitive lens, to be able to more deeply support staff with implementation and growth of programs.
