Project details

What we need
  • Feedback on the current website’s layout, user functionality, mobile-friendliness, visual design, content, and other key features
  • Clear articulation of the Organization’s goals for the website
  • Recommendations for improvements to help achieve the Organization’s desired goals
  • Note: If you are looking for a more specific, in-depth audit of your website's design and usability, try our Website Usability Audit project
Additional details

IFSI has grown and we wold like to do a couple of things with the website:
1) professionalize the look (we think--although would love feedback if the grassroots feel is more appealing given our mission)
2) add some real time elements like a calendar feature
3) improve navigation
4) add pages: newsletter tab, strategic partners and links tab, immigrant integration navigator program tag
5)our website is used by constituent families as well as volunteers and funders--we want to make it useful for all

What we have in place
  • We currently have a website, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a dedicated board member volunteer, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,752 , allowing us to spend the money on more teachers and resources for our students

we need to provide clear information to a variety of parties so we can get more families in the IFSI programs, develop more funding sources and add volunteers

Project plan

Our mission

IMMIGRANT FAMILY SERVICES INSTITUTE strives to address the academic and personal challenges confronting our immigrant children by providing targeted support and enrichment services as a way to maximize their potential in school and beyond. IFSI also advocates for immigrants by reducing barriers to accessing services and works with immigrants most affected by recent changes to immigration legislation including Temporary Protective Status (TPS). IFSI also advocates for immigrants' rights and access to services including health care, education, housing and other social services.

What we do

IFSI-USA offers three well attended and growing children's programs. PLUS+ afterschool serves roughly 40 immigrant children with academic tutoring and musical instrument instruction. PLUS+ weekend offers academic tutoring, college prep and musical ensemble instruction. PLUS+ summer offers full day academic and enrichment programming including a middle school STEAM curriculum.

For adults, IFSI offers workshops and services around immigration concerns including alternative paths to citizenship and rights as well as parent workshops.

Testimonials

Jesse is amazing. Very professional and very thorough. He analyzed our website using a number of different metrics and presented in depth recommendations on a variety of changes. He took the information we gave him and the features we are hoping to include in our website and not only gave us a great analysis but a number of options and very actionable steps for each option. He responded promptly and gave frequent updates as the project progressed. A pleasure working with Jesse and a very valuable experience for IFSI.
