What we'd like to talk about
I'd like to brainstorm ideas for recruiting two AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer positions. We lack funds to post on job boards, i.e. ASU & local community colleges require payment ($600+).
Additional context
AmeriCorps VISTA is a full-time commitment of 40/week for 12 months for $1,023 per month before taxes. No health care coverage. This makes it very difficult to recruit for these positions. Historically successful candidates usually rely heavily on their family for financial support during their term of service. I have emailed our past volunteers, emailed local community colleges, attended two local job fairs, social media broadcast, posted on ASU Lodestar, shared with staff company-wide, emailed recruiting companies asking them to offer their services at no cost (in-kind), & emailed various local community social services organizations.

Our mission
Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that builds, renovates, and repairs homes in partnership with families in need of decent, affordable housing. Serving Arizona since 1985, Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona (an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International) is an independent, locally run nonprofit organization helping families with low to moderate incomes become homeowners by building and partnering in the creation of affordable housing.
What we do
Services offered in Maricopa and Pinal Counties include new home construction, home renovations, home repairs, home reconstruction, neighborhood revitalizations, emergency home repairs, and contract services for public and non-profit industries.
Our ReStores receive new, used, discontinued or surplus building materials, appliances and home furnishings from companies, contractors, retailers, and individuals. An extension of the ReStore, Deconstruction services are a no-cost solution to remove kitchen cabinets, appliances, bathroom fixtures and doors from a space before a remodel or renovation. Proceeds from all ReStore sales go to support local families in need of affordable housing.
