Project details

What we need
  • Feedback on the current website’s layout, user functionality, mobile-friendliness, visual design, content, and other key features
  • Clear articulation of the Organization’s goals for the website
  • Recommendations for improvements to help achieve the Organization’s desired goals
  • Note: If you are looking for a more specific, in-depth audit of your website's design and usability, try our Website Usability Audit project
Additional details

We are a small nonprofits and currently have a template driven web site www.AcademyGO.com. It is outdated and the vendor that took over the company suggested we move to a Wordpress site.

We were working with them to update to WordPress They have moved some of the content already but we need someone to help get all of the content moved and then make suggestions of how to improve. I have all of the logins.

As a small nonprofit we would have to be able to maintain the new site ourselves.

What we have in place
  • We currently have Current web site and Wordpress site underdevelopment, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have the content ideas, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $6,370 , allowing us to spend more dollars on training nonprofits at our Fundraising and Grantwriting Academies. The goal is to strengthen our nonprofits so they have the tools to deliver their Mission

Our old site is very basic and does not work anymore for us. We are a nonprofit capability builder and want to get the web site up to date. To be the example for other small nonprofits.

Our mission

To convene, equip, and guide community leaders

What we do

Academy for Grassroots Organizations was formed in the year 2000 to meet the needs of a growing Inland Empire Region by coalescing and strengthening its nonprofit and community-benefit sector.

Today, with a mission to Convene, Equip, and Guide Community Leaders, "AcademyGO" provides a variety of resources and learning opportunities throughout the region and serves a network of more than 3,000.

As our CEO, Vici Nagel likes to say, "They improve our quality of life ... so we want to make sure that the thousands of amazing people and organizations working to change lives in our region have all the resources and skills they need to be successful. That's our mission in a nutshell."

Testimonials

Karen was amazing to work with. She took the time to understand what I was looking for and to help me understand the various considerations for each option. Including potential cost, time investment and much more. Once she got me to see how all pieces fit together I am able to now begin the layout and know-how to ask for help. Karen understood that we are a small nonprofit that has limited resources and helped me find ways to make things happen. Her wisdom is a gift and I enjoyed every minute of learning from her.

Website Audit Project

Debbie was a delight to work with. She explained things patiently during our discovery phase, was open-minded about solutions, and was very quick to catch on to new ideas. I admire the vast amount that Academy for Grassroots does with limited resources and wish them every success in the next phase of their website redesign.
