What we need
- Initial assessment of areas of strength, targets for improvement and specific areas of focus desired for the coaching sessions
- Up to 6 coaching sessions exploring areas such as motivation, empowerment, collaboration, communication, giving / receiving feedback & conflict management
- Wrap-up session with actionable steps and advice moving forward as a manager
Additional details
Three of SWP's directors (Legal, Social Work, and Movement Building) would very much appreciate management coaching to help us most effectively support our staff and interns in doing their direct services, outreach, and training work. We'd be interested in receiving this training as a group, or if that's not possible, on a one-on-one basis.
What we have in place
- We currently have identified areas where we are seeking feedback, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have background information on our organizational structure, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $7,248 , allowing us to devote those funds to creating client wellness groups; restocking our emergency supplies for clients; and sustaining the salaries of staff providing much-needed counseling and legal representation.
This project would help our managers better support supervisees and troubleshoot issues, with an eye towards creating an organizational culture and practices that are in line with our anti-oppressive principles. With this training, we hope to be able to ensure we have cohesive teams working to further SWP's mission of creating, through direct services and systemic advocacy, a world where sex workers and survivors of human trafficking are safe and free.

Our mission
The Sex Workers Project (SWP) at the Urban Justice Center is the first and only program in the country to focus on the provision of legal and social services to sex workers, by protecting and promoting the rights of individuals who engage in sex work, regardless of whether they do so by choice, circumstance, or coercion. We engage in in media advocacy, support sex worker-led organizing and pursue policy change. Together, we are working to create a world that is safe for sex workers and where human trafficking does not exist.
What we do
We provide free therapy and immigration legal services to survivors of trafficking and sex workers. We engage in policy advocacy, and community education.
