Project details

What we need
  • Review of job descriptions, pay structure, internal value, competitive market data, non-monetary rewards and benefits
  • Recommendations for updating staff compensation and incentive plans
Additional details

In addition to the above descriptors, we also need someone to help us with compliance questions as we move from hiring independent contractors to full time staff positions. We have drafted a scope of work proposal to share with the Catch A Fire professional we will work with.

What we have in place
  • We currently have Drafts of job descriptions and other items, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have Our board president and E.D. To work on this, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $6,746 , allowing us to Provide robust programs to the youth we serve.

We currently hire independent contractors to work in our programs. We want to review our staffing structure, salary schedule/compensation package, review comparable organizations and how they structure their pay & compensation packages. This will be enormously helpful as we grow as an organization. We want to hire and retain the best people to work with the youth we serve, while at the same time being mindful of our non-profit status and budget.

Our mission

The mission of ForWords Literacy Lab is to provide 21st century literacy skills necessary for success in academics and in the work world. ForWords brings literacy development programs to underserved first generation students and their schools in the San Francisco Bay Area.

What we do

We provide both community and in-school programs in middle and high schools. Through classroom study and field experiences, we explore social, economic, and political causes of educational inequity in order to provide enriched English Language Literature curricula paired with technology and the arts. We work closely with classroom teachers to make sure these programs are sustainable and are aligned with the academic requirements of our local schools.
