What we need
  • Strategy for using Instagram to engage your community, tailored to Organization’s goals and target audience
  • Training on how to find and post content on Instagram

We created an Instagram account for our nonprofit organization roughly a year ago but have not utilized it too much since. We would love to find new supporters and connect with people in our community but we struggle to know what accounts to follow, what pictures to post/how frequent, and what hashtags to use. We would love to just get some guidance on the ways to use our Instagram to help and grow our supporter base and help the community learn about our organization.

What we have in place
  • We currently have an Instagram account, a Facebook account, a lot of pictures, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a goal for what we want our Instagram to accomplish, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,212 , allowing us to continue to provide homes, care, and advocacy for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

The project will help to build community connections between our organization and others. It will also allow us to spread the word about upcoming events and volunteer opportunities with the community. But most importantly it will help to spread advocacy for individuals with intellectual disabilities and highlight the amazing residents within our community.

  • Volunteer Manager and Professional connect to discuss the Organization’s current approach to Instagram (if any), goals for engagement via Instagram, and ideal target audience
  • Volunteer Manager shares any existing marketing materials and brand guidelines with Professional

Milestone 1: Set up Instagram for Business Account
  • Volunteer Manager shares Instagram credentials with Professional, if an existing account exists
  • Professional sets up account with bio and profile picture

Milestone 2: Develop Engagement Strategy
  • Professional recommends other types of accounts to follow and hashtags to use in order to build follower base
  • Professional recommends types and frequency of content to post on account (including posts, stories, and live videos)

Milestone 3: Content Creation Training
  • Professional trains Volunteer Manager on how to capture and/or find images to post on Instagram
  • Professional trains Volunteer Manager on how to use Instagram editing tools
