What we need
  • Document outlining relationship of board to your organization and metrics of board success
  • Document outlining scope of roles within board, including empty seats if applicable

HYSSOP needs a manual that outlines roles, responsibilities, terms of service, and expectations of board members.

We see this as a deficit in our operation.

What we have in place
  • We currently have assigned roles already in place., which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have myself, Pearl Thompson co-chair, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $5,882 , allowing us to With the savings that we will incur from this help, we'll be able to spend time putting together a recruitment plan for new board members. We can be at the tables of those who can further our mission

Our lack of accountability in our assigned board roles as board members we feel can be directly attributed to not having roles and responsibilities spelled out in a formal way.
Having a packet with this information will allow us to place something tangible in current and prospective board members hands. A formal process of assessment to receiving it and understanding the requirements will help tremendously and reduce confusion.

Our mission

Ensure that senior lesbian women of color can age in the communities that have nurtured and supported them throughout their lives by:
1. Establish a certification for housing facilities, medical facilities and other servicing agencies;
2. Create a buddy system to ensure that senior lesbians of color are not suffering from isolation, elder abuse, or discrimination related to sexual orientation, being transsexual, or homophobia;
3. Develop housing models that ensure aging in place and provide support, comradery, safety, and a healthy environment.
