What we need
- A professionally designed annual report, up to 20 pages, with print-ready specifications
Additional details
Hi, this is not actually an annual report, but I think the work would be similar. We have developed a middle school science curriculum unit on Climate Change to be used by public and private schools in Hawaii (for free). We would like to make it look more professional and appealing with improved formatting and graphics.
What we have in place
- We currently have completed content, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a keen interest in getting this done, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,212 , allowing us to develop curriculum units for other grades.
Teachers often did not learn about Climate Change in school themselves and are not confident teaching it. Also, Hawaii public schools are required to transition this year to a new way of teaching science called NGSS. The mandate comes without any local curriculum. We are developing local, place-based units that meet grade level requirements for science and other state standards and cover some aspect of climate change. It's a perfect opportunity to get climate change education into schools.

Our mission
Healthy Climate Communities (HCC) is committed to community education and action in Hawaii to fight climate change. HCC has been an all-volunteer effort since 2015. HCC hosts school and community groups to plant a native Hawaiian forest on the watershed of a State wetland with 4 species of endangered waterbirds. HCC conducts workshops for schools and community groups. HCC is developing place-based NGSS science curriculum units focused on climate change for elementary, middle and high school for teachers in Hawaii to use themselves. HCC also lobbies the State legislature to support renewable energy.
