Employee Handbook
Employee Handbook
Project details
What we need
- Audit of existing Employee Handbook, or internal communications regarding employment policies
- Edit or creation of a new Employee Handbook, which may include any of the following: Standards of Conduct, Work Schedules, Leave Policies, Termination Policies, Safety and Security, Anti-Discrimination policies, Compensation and Benefits policies, any Non-Disclosure Agreements or Conflict of Interest statements that may apply, and any other pertinent information
Additional details
We have an existing handbook which is mainly fine, but our leave policies have changed and we don't have a policy about how to call out of work, request to work from home, or how to determine our start times for the office. Insight into those practices as we redraft the handbook very much appreciated.
What we have in place
- We currently have a fairly robust employee handbook, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have information about the practices that need to be updated, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,430 , allowing us to perform DNA testing for a client who claims innocence of the crime for which the client was convicted.
As our staff size has grown from 1 to 8, with the continued expectation to expand, we need a handbook that lays out policies that will set both our small org and future larger organization up for success. While our team is very dedicated, we don't have clear policies re start times for work performed or how to request time off/to work from home. Our leave policy also changed to an unlimited leave policy with no payout upon departure from the company and the hand book does not reflect that.
Project plan
Our mission
The Midwest Innocence Project (MIP) is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to the investigation, litigation, and exoneration of wrongfully convicted men and women in our five-state region, including Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas, Nebraska, and Iowa. We work to free the wrongfully convicted, educate the public, and change policy to prevent future wrongful convictions.
What we do
We represent people convicted of crimes they did not commit, investigate, and litigate to regain their freedom. We also work to enact policy to prevent wrongful convictions on the front end.
