What we need
  • Audit of existing Employee Handbook, or internal communications regarding employment policies
  • Edit or creation of a new Employee Handbook, which may include any of the following: Standards of Conduct, Work Schedules, Leave Policies, Termination Policies, Safety and Security, Anti-Discrimination policies, Compensation and Benefits policies, any Non-Disclosure Agreements or Conflict of Interest statements that may apply, and any other pertinent information
Additional details

We have an existing Employee Handbook, but some of the policies need expansion and/or clarification. We want to ensure the Handbook is accurate, and that all policies are in accordance with state and federal employment law. We are particularly interested in help with refining our vacation and sick benefits.

What we have in place
  • We have our current Employee Handbook as well as the previous version if comparison is needed. Our Executive Director and Director of Finance and Operations are both available and committed to this project.
How this will help
This project will save us $1,955 , allowing us to direct these funds to patient care and medications for the uninsured.

Having an Employee Handbook that is accurate and in accordance with all state and federal laws is crucial to the successful on-boarding of employees, and guides human resources decisions for the organization. It will help our management team in the operations of our Clinic.

Our mission

The mission of the Gloucester Mathews Care Clinic is to provide community-based healthcare for the residents of Gloucester and Mathews counties, and select surrounding areas, who lack health insurance, or are covered by Medicaid. We achieve this through the efforts of volunteers, paid professionals and support staff, and contributions from members of the community who share our values and concern.

What we do

The Gloucester Mathews Care Clinic has provided compassionate care to uninsured adults in Gloucester and Mathews counties since 1998. We provide chronic care, acute care, behavioral health care, specialty care through our community partners, patient health education, and an on-site pharmacy.
