What we need
  • Designs for one piece of marketing or communications collateral (e.g., fact sheet, case study, event invitations)
  • Templates with accurate, print-ready specifications
  • Note: Please post an additional project if more than one piece of collateral is needed
Additional details

One of our anchors has a policy platform that they are developing and finalizing by the end of this week. We want to highlight the values and principles the anchor organization stands for, and the specific policies we are advocating for. We need help turning this into a compelling, well-designed document that reflects our branding so we can share with our affiliates and stakeholders. We will need the design by April 18.

What we have in place
  • We currently have the draft copy, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have past print material examples, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,034 , allowing us to pay our canvassers more than the minimum and keep our small regular staff on board.

With a strong and compellingly-designed policy platform, our anchor organizations can show the materials to elected officials, to other community groups, small businesses, low-income communities of color, and other stakeholders to quickly communicate what we're about and what we're advocating for in 2019 and beyond. When we're clear what we're fighting for, it's easier to build alliances for the greater good.

Prep: Distribution of Prep Materials
  • Volunteer Manager provides the Professional with a budget for print materials, finalized copy, high-resolution logo and any visual branding guidelines to be utilized
  • Volunteer Manager also provides images for desired deliverables (if applicable), examples of existing marketing materials and links to online presence (website and social media)
  • Volunteer Manager shares brand messaging guidelines (if applicable)

Milestone 1: Preliminary Concepts
  • Professional and Volunteer Manager discuss how print materials will be utilized, target audience, and style preferences
  • Professional develops preliminary sketches, and garners feedback from Volunteer Manager

  • Professional drafts print materials, and incorporates any feedback into final product

We are Bay Rising, a growing alliance of community-led organizations across the Bay Area. We are the only regional civic engagement organization that organizes with working-class people and people of color as voters in the Bay Area year-round.

We believe that our journey towards racial, economic, and environmental justice is a journey for political power.

We know this in our bones because political power is about who represents us and the rules that govern us - it's about our future. We all have the right to decide on our future, no matter who we are, what we look like, or what's in our wallets.

What we do

Bay Rising provides a space for leaders rooted in our communities to develop a shared regional analysis and strategy for healthy, vibrant neighborhoods for all. We create regional voter guides, integrate arts and cultural strategy into our organizing, and conduct voter engagement experiments. Bay Rising also trains staff and leaders at member-based organizations around the Bay Area to run electoral campaigns, build relationships across the region to support each other, develop and integrate communications strategy, and manage sustainable organizations.
