Additional details

Our organization successfully planned and executed a 15 year anniversary event two years ago. It was not designed to be a fundraiser. It was more of a celebratory event with stakeholders that share our mission. Through sponsorships, we made $10,000. Now, we want to plan a cultivation/fund raising event for our board members to invite their friends to expand our individual donor base while raising unrestricted funds. We need help designing a FUN "fund raising" event.

What we have in place
  • We have a motivated event planning team. The Director of Development is supporting two board member event chairs. The team has identified a location for the event and a general concept. The Big Green Egg grill company has a culinary center. We want to plan an event at this center that features BBQ, beer and bourbon. The event will be August 24th the weekend before college football kicks off and we want the theme to be Collegiate/Tailgate/Game Day. Help us make this FUNdraise!
How this will help
This project will save us $4,212 , allowing us to engage others in our vision -All children nourished and active. Increase volunteers, corporate partnerships, donors, program revenue.

To achieve our vision: All children nourished and active, HealthMPowers needs to help various audiences know how they can join us to make a difference. We want to increase volunteer opportunities, grow our individual donor base and raise unrestricted funds. We would like to start an annual event that board members use to raise funds for the organization and connect people to our cause.

Our mission

Vision: All Children Nourished and Active.

MIssion: Empowering healthy habits and transforming environments where children live, learn and play.

Inspired by the knowledge that improving a child's health can impact their entire future, we are dedicated to helping children and families establish healthy habits that will last a lifetime.

What we do

HealthMPowers promotes healthy habits to build a better future for children. By integrating nutrition education and physical activity into schools, childcare centers, and after-school programs, we create a culture that supports lifelong healthy lifestyle choices for children, families and communities. HealthMPowers is a national leader in children's health, with a proven, 19-year track record of improving health knowledge and behaviors among children.
By implementing evidence-based guidelines for health and fitness established by the CDC, HealthMPowers helps children make measurable improvements in their health, such as a reduction in BMI and an improvement in physical fitness. HealthMPowers partners with nearly 500 schools, childcare centers, and afterschool programs throughout Georgia to teach children how to make healthy eating and exercise a regular part of their everyday lives. Last year, we served nearly 195,000 students across over fifty different counties. We focus our work in underserved, low-income communities, where we feel we can have the greatest impact, providing trainings and resource materials to empower children and those who care for them to make healthy life choices.
