What we need
  • A compilation of research on a specific topic (e.g. industry best practices, literature review, media contacts, industry trends, etc.) including a list of sources
  • Recommendations on areas for further exploration/research
  • Note: This project is not designed to be used for prospect or grant research
Additional details

We will use this information to formulate a sponsorship/advocacy policy.
I believe we need to know
1. Any IRS, MI law & possibly GAAP accounting rules related to sponsorship/advocacy and
2. What other smaller foundations (we have about $30mm in assets) are doing
Our mission is to cultivate improvements in individual and community health.

What we have in place
  • We currently have another orgs sample advocacy policy, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have draft graphic of sponsorship/advocacy roles for foundations, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $5,239 , allowing us to focus time directly on our mission. An expert will be able to accomplish this with much greater ease and in less time than we can.

We are occasionally asked to sponsor or advocate for an organization (like Healthy Kids Healthy MI) and we don't because we want to have clear guidelines before we start down this road. This project has been on the to-do list for several years.

  • Professional shares outline with Volunteer Manager for feedback

  • Professional conducts online research and analyzes information
  • Professional drafts a research report and creates a list of sources
  • Volunteer Manager provides feedback, which Professional incorporates
  • Professional conducts an additional round of research (if necessary)
