Project details

What we need
  • Training goals for a specific population (volunteers, staff, program participants, etc.)
  • Advice on what training methods the Organization should pursue to meet its goals (webinars, lectures, print materials, etc.)
  • Suggestions for curriculum design, creative messaging, call to actions, methods and timeline
  • Budget for implementation (taking the Organization’s resource constraints into consideration)
  • A written document that summarizes objectives, strategies and actions steps
Additional details

We are a relatively new nonprofit that has not had a staff development plan. We need someone who has assessed a group's skills per a prioritized list -- preferably a list that they helped to develop -- and created a plan for building those skills among the team members. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A REQUIREMENT.

What we have in place
  • We currently have a small team, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have accessible staff members, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $6,000 , allowing us to fuel our refrigerated truck for a year, resulting in literally tons of food rescued and delivered for people in need.

Our impact on hunger in our community is a direct result of the number and capabilities of the staff members on our team. You'll be helping us become more productive, which means more healthy, fresh food for more people in need!

Our mission

ExtraFood.org's mission is to help end hunger and wasted food in Marin County, California, where 1 in 5 people worry about where their next meal will come from.

What we do

Through our county-wide food recovery program, we rescue excess fresh food from any Marin business or school and immediately deliver it to safety net partners -- such as homeless shelters, senior housing centers, and after-school programs -- serving Marin's most vulnerable children, adults, and families. In 5 years we've rescued 2.7 million pounds of food and delivered it to 121 sites across Marin, including 34 new food programs we've started with our partners. We're reaching 8,000+ people every month with healthy, fresh food.
