What we have in place
  • We currently have initial graphic template design and a clear idea of needs, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have templates from previous years, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $1,308 , allowing us to offer programming and participation in the shows to another team of children.

Approximately 300 children come together in May and June to perform in our annual, city-wide Event of the Year shows. Every year a theme is chosen for the shows. The 11-15 musical numbers are then chosen or composed based on the theme. CDI's Event of the Year show is an especially important component of our overall program. The children who participate have never been exposed to live theater in a professional venue. The transformation over the four days of rehearsal and performing is amazing

Prep: Distribution of Prep Materials
  • Volunteer Manager provides the Professional with a budget for print materials, finalized copy, high-resolution logo, and any visual branding guidelines to be utilized
  • Volunteer Manager also provides images for desired deliverables (if applicable), examples of existing marketing materials and links to online presence (website and social media)
  • Volunteer Manager shares event branding guidelines (if applicable)

Milestone 1: Preliminary Concepts
  • Professional and Volunteer Manager discuss how print materials will be utilized, target audience, and style preferences
  • Professional develops preliminary sketches, and garners feedback from Volunteer Manager

Milestone 2: Graphic Creation
  • Professional drafts print material designs, incorporating feedback from Volunteer Manager into the agreed upon final deliverable

Milestone 3: Final Draft
  • Professional delivers the final versions in the desired electronic format
  • Professional provides guidance on printing specifications (colors, size, etc.)

Our mission

California Dance Institute (CDI) is an in-school and after-school non-profit arts education program that teaches life and learning skills through dance and music. CDI's mission is to motivate children to develop a personal standard of excellence by instilling confidence, discipline and focus through the rigor and joy of dance.

What we do

Currently, CDI is serving almost 1,000 children in six public schools in underserved neighborhoods throughout Los Angeles County and scores of others with its online programming. During its twenty-year history, CDI has served over 20,000 Los Angeles area students with direct programming. CDI is the California associate of the National Dance Institute (NDI), founded in 1976 by New York City Ballet's Jacques d'Amboise.
