Tech Systems Review
Tech Systems Review
Project details
What we need
- An assessment of Organization's IT infrastructure including costs, speed, reliability and security
- Advice on various IT services and the cost-benefit associated with each option
- Potentially more efficient and secure services
- Note: This does not include tech systems set up or implementation
Additional details
Our current IT infrastructure is largely ad hoc due to having grown organically and not strategically. Our organization has grown to the point that existing systems are somewhat inadequate, but we do not necessarily know what needs to be improved (as in tweaked to work better) and what needs to be replaced / added to increase capacity.
What we have in place
- We currently have a general list of software that exists in-house, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a general sense of what we need, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $8,001 , allowing us to streamline existing processes and quantify data for reporting purposes.
We receive income through multiple streams: tuition, art sales, donations, memberships, grants, etc. We have a donor database and we have accounting software; neither talk nicely to each other. This results in duplication of effort and an increase in errors in tracking. If we can synchronize our different components, it should help save money and time.

Our mission
The Grand Marais Art Colony provides services to artists, promotes art education and nurtures art in our community through an environment of creative excellence.
What we do
Who We Are:
At the Grand Marais Art Colony, we exist to support the enduring human need for creative expression and inspiration. Artists and creative seekers of all levels come from across the country to learn from renowned instructors, create art, and engage together in artistic inquiry. Here you will find a welcoming community that embraces the formative first stages, as well as acts of creative risk-taking and self-discovery; an immersive gathering place for exchanging ideas, inspirations and techniques, allowing your ideas to germinate and the space and time you need to be artistically present. Nestled between the horizon line of Lake Superior and the wilderness of boreal forests and serene lakes, we invite you to step away from the bustle of daily life and journey with us.
What We Believe:
-Artistic expression connect us with our internal and external landscapes
-Artists need time, space, and uninterrupted focus to create work
-Mentorship and guidance are critical for all stages of creative development
-Dialogue enhances the artistic process and develops shared understanding
-Connecting through the arts builds healthy and resilient communities
