Project details

What we need
  • A compelling narrative, or set of stories
  • Persuasive copy that can be used in appeals to donors, annual reports, grant applications, and media relations
  • Popular examples: Organization's founding story, a program achievement or milestone, a look back at the past few years, organizational backgrounder, etc.
  • Note: This project is not intended to support your general content planning or marketing but there are several projects in our Marketing & Communications category which are a good fit!
Additional details

In 2019, Curemonos will be celebrating its 10th anniversary in supporting medically underserved women affected by breast cancer. As a grassroots organization, this is a major milestone for Curemonos to have survived after so many years in a competitive environment. I need help in telling the stories of patients, who have benefitted from our programs, in a compelling manner to attract donors and supporters to our 10th anniversary celebration/fundraising event.

What we have in place
  • We currently have patients' feedback and stories, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have videos and articles about Curemonos' programs, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,397 , allowing us to provide additional programs to underserved women affected by breast cancer and/or increase capacity of women served.

Donors and supporters are impacted by patient's stories. Since we support medically underserved women affected by breast cancer, we have many stories that need to be captured in a compelling and touching manner to attract potential donors and supporters. The stories need to capture all aspects of how breast cancer affects those who are poor and uninsured in a compelling manner. It takes someone with great writing skills and experience to capture these stories with the right balance.

Our mission

Curémonos mission is to provide education, support and advocacy to medically underserved women, primarily Latinas, affected by breast cancer.

What we do

Curémonos helps underserved Latinas through breast health education and personalized patient centered advocacy. We advocate with hospitals, physicians and community organizations to help patients and their families navigate the complex health system to obtain appropriate care in a timely, efficient and culturally accessible manner. By encouraging early diagnosis and treatment, patients obtain better health outcomes. Our services also benefit medical providers since patients overcome barriers to maintain and complete their treatment regimens as well as save hospitals, doctors, and taxpayers valuable time and money.

Testimonials

Storytelling Project

Fighting cancer is one thing. Fighting poverty, language barriers and social isolation is another thing altogether. The thousands of medically underserved Latinas that Dora supports through her work with Curémonos are literally terrified for their lives and the future of their families. That’s why she has fought so hard to advocate for their needs and their dignity. Dora is an amazing woman, an inspiration and a pleasure to work with.
