What we'd like to talk about
I'd like help researching grant opportunities for our 3-year-old nonprofit. Our organization needs funds to support general operations, and also has programs that would qualify us for funding.
"Phone calls" are 1 hour, one-time calls with an organization. Learn the difference between volunteering on a Phone call and a Project here.
Our mission
The mission of PlantPure Communities is to empower people to build healthy, kind, and sustainable communities. This is being accomplished through a wide range of research, policy, and program activities and working with local nonprofits, businesses, governments, hospitals and other health-related organizations, faith-based groups, and other community-based organizations.
What we do
PPC offers programs, resources, and tools that empower community leaders, activists, and advocates to educate people about the evidence-based nutrition research that shows that optimal health may be achieved through a whole food, plant-based (WFPB) diet.
Testimonials
We had a really great call with Cesar! Prior to the call and during the call, Cesar took the time to get to know our organization in order to understand how he could best help us. We went into the call thinking our programs have some weaknesses that prevent us from raising funds from large foundations. However, he gave us a new and more accurate perspective of our potential to raise funds based on the work we have already done. In addition, he gave us a specific list of resources that will help us start the process! Cesar went above and beyond what we expected and we are so grateful to him, and Catchafire, for providing our small nonprofit with expert advice. Catchafire is such an amazing resource with benefits that far outweigh its cost!
It was great speaking with Caroline and Alex. They are building a movement to have more people aware of the massive value of a plant based diet, but more importantly to galvanize communities to be more active in the wellbeing and healthy practices of their neighbors. They are working on research and policy to move the needle from a nation level, while at the same time working with local communities fro around the country to have a grassroots approach. It was wonderful to learn more around their work, their ambitions, and provide them with some information on the funding landscape and how to navigate fundraising efforts. I would highly recommend any and all volunteers aid this scrappy, lean and mean team!
