Project details

What we need
  • Initial assessment of areas of strength, targets for improvement and specific areas of focus desired for the coaching sessions
  • Up to 6 coaching sessions exploring areas such as motivation, empowerment, collaboration, communication, giving / receiving feedback & conflict management
  • Wrap-up session with actionable steps and advice moving forward as a manager
Additional details

I am the Communications & Events Manager, I need help developing my organization and delegation skills. There is not a staff member 'under' me but I work with various staff and volunteers regarding our annual and pop up events. I have been with the organization for two and a half years.

What we have in place
  • We currently have been hosting our annual 5k for 5 years now, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have rough folders of previous events and projects, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $7,248 , allowing us to move our events and communication to the next level and better serve the domestic violence shelters across the state of Georgia.

As I am continually growing into this role, I do not have a direct supervisor with time to support me in developing a more clear organizational style. Helping me will help our events and communication campaigns grow our audience and involvement in the movement to end domestic violence.

Our mission

Collaborate. Advocate. Educate. Empower.

We empower survivors and the programs that serve them, we educate the public, and we advocate for responsive public policy. Our strength is in numbers, as we collaborate throughout Georgia to stop domestic violence.

What we do

The Georgia Coalition Against Domestic Violence (GCADV) is Georgia's federally recognized domestic violence coalition, representing over 53 domestic violence organizations and programs across the state. We engage in capacity building, communications, and public policy efforts to ensure effective domestic violence prevention and intervention. GCADV and its members and allies work collaboratively, along with community, corporate, and foundation partners, to achieve social and systems change on behalf of domestic violence survivors and their families. Every day we motivate, inform, and connect with stakeholders concerned with this issue. No one organization offers all of the solutions, and we believe that by coming together with a wide range of partners and creating new approaches, we can ensure that survivors are safe and empowered and healthy relationships are nurtured.
