What we need
  • Review of current board policies and procedures
  • Documents that establish strong governance practices
  • New or revised policies that clearly define the role of the board and its relationship to the Organization
What we have in place
  • We currently have 3 full time staff memeber and 18 Board Memebers, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a 6 Member Executive Committee, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $7,610 , allowing us to provide prevention & education, counseling, and case management services to our clients.

The agency's by-laws have not been updated since 1983. Although the Board Members sign contracts, terms, and fiduciary obligations are not adhered to.

Prep: Provide Current Materials
  • Volunteer Manager provides Professional with the board of directors’ current governance practices, structure, policies and procedures, as well as a list of current board members
  • Volunteer Manager identifies which board members or other staff are available for interviews (if required)

Milestone 1: Research
  • Professional connects with Volunteer Manager for a brainstorming/overview session
  • Professional reviews any issues arising from current policies and procedures

Milestone 2: Evaluation
  • Professional conducts surveys and interviews with key stakeholders
  • Professional reviews relevant materials regarding the board’s performance, structure, policies and procedures
  • Professional drafts the board’s structure, policies and procedures documents
  • Organization provides feedback to Professional’s documents

Milestone 3: Delivery of Board Policies & Procedures
  • Professional delivers board policies and procedures document outlining recommendations for more effective governance of the Organization
