Project details

What we need
  • A review of Organization's communications goals and target audiences
  • Identification of appropriate timeline and implementation approach based on goals and audience
  • Messaging guidelines (with examples) based on audience and delivery methods
  • Outline of necessary steps for implementation
Additional details

My goal is to develop an internal communication plan to promote skills-based volunteerism to our leadership volunteers and staff. I have tried some different strategies, but would like additional ideas and insight.

What we have in place
  • We currently have a lot of resources outlining our SBV program, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have some great internal communication channels, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $3,607 , allowing us to put more money toward our mission.

Skills-based volunteerism is still newer to us as an organization and those who have worked with skills-based volunteers have loved it. My hope is that we can encourage greater excitement for and use of skills-based volunteerism as an organizational resource, allowing us to do more.

Our mission

The American Cancer Society’s mission is to save lives, celebrate lives, and lead the fight for a world without cancer.

What we do

The American Cancer Society is a nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem. Our Global Headquarters are located in Atlanta, Georgia, and we have regional and local offices throughout the country to ensure we have a presence in every community.

While most people know us for our research, we do so much more. We attack cancer from every angle. We promote healthy lifestyles to help you prevent cancer. We research cancer and its causes to find more answers and better treatments. We fight for lifesaving policy changes. We provide everything from emotional support to the latest cancer information for those who have been touched by cancer. And we do it all 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Testimonials

Tanya was so great to work with! She had a lot of ideas and I really got a lot from just talking on the phone with her. I would work with Tanya again in a heartbeat!

Communications Strategy Project

Andrea was great to work with. She was super clear about her objectives and timeline, provided a ton of information to make the project easier to complete, responded quickly to questions, and was open to hearing ‘outside of the box’ ideas (and is a lovely person to boot!)
