Project details

What we need
  • Training goals for a specific population (volunteers, staff, program participants, etc.)
  • Advice on what training methods the Organization should pursue to meet its goals (webinars, lectures, print materials, etc.)
  • Suggestions for curriculum design, creative messaging, call to actions, methods and timeline
  • Budget for implementation (taking the Organization’s resource constraints into consideration)
  • A written document that summarizes objectives, strategies and actions steps
What we have in place
  • We currently have some mentor and intern training procedures already establish, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have down time in the winter season to work with you, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $6,000 , allowing us to provide gardens and garden education to over 100 community gardeners this year.

The success of our program relies on our small team of staff, our volunteer Mentors and our interns. I am looking to develop clear and concise project plans for our volunteers and part-time staff members so they can both feel empowered in their role and help us move forward on our goals in their limited time. I am hopeful that you will help me build my resources to offer that opportunity to our team.

Our mission

Backyard Growers (BYG) is a grassroots initiative helping to reshape Gloucester’s relationship with food. We begin by providing resources and support to establish vegetable gardens in homes and schools. In the end we create life-long gardeners inspired by the power of growing one’s own food.
