What we need
- A photographer who will work with the Organization over 1-2 days to capture an important event or shoot a series of photographs to tell the Organization's story
- A set of professionally edited, high-resolution images delivered in JPEG or TIFF format suitable for web or print use
- Note: The photographer needs to be available in the same geographical location as the Organization or be willing to travel at own expense
Additional details
We need someone with an eye for pictures to take 16 individual staff headshots and a group photo for our website. (The ones we have now are low-quality or a few years old and don't reflect our current organization.)
We have 16 employees, a nice camera, a plain white background, and decent lighting in our Berkeley office and would love your help with taking professional, presentable pics for our staff page! This would be for just an hour or two the week of January 14th, 2019 (any day Mon-Thurs) is OK.

What we have in place
- We currently have a camera, a plain white background, and 16 photogenic staff, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have lots of snacks and coffee we'd love to share while you're here, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $8,738 , allowing us to spend more money, time, and resources on teambuilding during our all-staff retreat.
With half of our staff working remotely from locations other than our Berkeley, CA headquarters, we only have the chance to get together as a group a couple of times a year. As our organization grows, we feel it's important to have current photos of our staff on our website, so it can better reflect our recognition of our amazing employees and their varied interests, skills, and backgrounds. Thankfully, our next all-staff retreat is in January 2019, and we'd love to have you visit our office for some quick pics -- it would mean a lot to us!

Our mission
MapLight is a nonpartisan research organization that reveals money's influence on politics. We research and compile data about the sources of campaign contributions in U.S. presidential, congressional, state, and local ballot and candidate elections. We provide journalists and citizens with transparency tools that connect data on campaign contributions, politicians, legislative votes, industries, companies, and more to show patterns of influence never before possible to see. These tools allow users to gain unique insights into how campaign contributions affect policy so they can draw their own conclusions about how money influences our political system.
