Project details

What we need
  • Document that articulates in a consistent voice key messages about the Organization’s identity, constituents, mission, and vision
  • Creation of taglines and talking points to help the Organization communicate clearly and concisely
  • Recommendations on tailoring messaging for common communication channels (e.g., website copy, printed marketing collateral, pitching verbally)
What we have in place
  • We currently have a mission statement, website, e newsletter, 3 minute video, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have Performance postcards, posters, Facebook,, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $3,600 , allowing us to scale our impact using the performing arts for social change. No salary is taken by us; every penny goes directly to our work. There are no resources to do work like this outside of our expertise.

We're a small organization trying to have a big impact. All of our current marketing material has been done by Tonya Amos, Artistic and Executive Director. Our background is in the arts, not marketing, so we know that we're missing key elements to have our project "pop". We're doing really good work, but we need to have marketing to reflect the level of our work. Having better marketing material will mean larger audiences and more access to funding. This will help us scale our impact to make social change through the performing arts.

Our mission

Grown Women Dance Collective creates cross-cultural, generational, and class connections, encouraging dialogue, empowering thought and action, and building racial harmony through concert dance and wellness programs. In a positive and nurturing environment, mature dancers challenge the stereotypes of aging, create artistic work that is relevant and accessible to diverse and underserved audiences, promote mind and body healing through health and fitness programs, and create economic opportunities for young people.

What we do

Arts & Wellness for Social Justice

1) World-class dance concerts that teach and celebrate Black history; celebrating resistence, resilience, self-empowerment and joy.

2) Free community arts & wellness classes: Dance, Dance with Literacy (Black history and African American poetry), Pilates for Back & Joint Pain, Fall Prevention for Seniors

3) Pilates & Joyful Movement Life Skills Certification- creates audacious movement leaders in under resourced communities that bring arts, pain prevention, fall prevention, nutrition, financial literacy, and well paying careers into their own communities.
