What we need
- Analysis of accounting needs and assessment of current accounting practices
- Recommendations for process improvements and report generation
- Recommendations for appropriate bookkeeping software and related costs (if necessary)
- Implementation of chosen bookkeeping software (if necessary)
- Training on data input and essential reports to generate
What we have in place
- We have Quickbooks (desktop version), but could send our Quickbooks file to see if you would have any suggestions on how we could better organize our info (after talking through it, of course). You would be working with the Founder/Artistic Director of the venue.
How this will help
This project will save us $6,779 , allowing us to focus more on supporting emerging artists, giving us the tools to help launch the next generation of transformative artists.
Though we haven't had any problems with our bookkeeping (we had an audit last year and the auditor didn't seem to have concerns about our processes) we're really looking to move from a DIY model of accounting/bookkeeping developed by part-time staff members with little bookkeeping experience to an approach that is informed by known best practices in the field. We're looking to clean up our Chart of Accounts and also learn about other ways to make our practices make the most sense.

What we do
JACK is an OBIE-winning 50-seat performance venue located in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. We present over 200 theater, music and dance performances a year and hold community forums on racial justice, gentrification, and police/community relations.
