Project details

What we need
  • Clear and effective copy for an annual report that illustrates the Organization’s successes and plans for growth (e.g., descriptions of programs, allocation of funds, and recognition of donors and volunteers)
  • Blueprint of the structure for the annual report, including optimal content, length, and style
What we have in place
  • We currently have one-pagers, an infograph, and program photos, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have organizational stock language, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $9,148 , allowing us to pay five of our at-risk teen leaders a stipend for their leadership in the makerspace.

The success of our organization depends on the ability to communicate clearly and enticingly our impact. Without your help, we cannot engage our funders and partners at a new level. Your skills will empower us to bring our organization to the next level.

Our mission

Maverick Landing Community Services (MLCS) is a multi-service organization with a primary focus on helping children, youth, and adults to build 21st-century skills. Our mission is to enhance the lives of the culturally and economically diverse residents of Maverick Landing, East Boston, and surrounding communities by:

+Motivating people to achieve economic, educational, and personal goals.
+Linking people to support systems.
+Creating leadership opportunities
+Strengthening youth, families, and community.

What we do

Our family support-based model of building 21st century skills runs from zero to adulthood:

Early Care (0-5) with a Family Nurturing program for parents and playgroups in Arabic & Spanish, implemented in collaboration with BPS Countdown to Kindergarten.
Children (7-12): after-school and summer program offering academic support, socioemotional development, and STEM engagement.
Teen Programs (13-18): a workforce development and social enterprise program that helps teens build 21st century skills to advance their educational and economic goals.
Adult Programs: English Innovations, a tech-infused language learning model; the Work, Tech and Life Skills program helps adults with digital job search, setting up a LinkedIn profile and digitizing resumes and portfolios through EastieCoders- a front end website development study group.

We have also begun to host regular social events to build social capital and community cohesion, supporting the success of our programs and providing us with volunteer support from the community.
