What we have in place
- We currently have QuickBooks Desktop: Premier Nonprofit Edition 2017, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have chart of accounts, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $6,779 , allowing us to collect and process 250 E. coli samples to keep the public informed about safe water quality conditions before visiting local swimming holes.
As the founder, current board president, executive director, and Waterkeeper - I am in desperate need of recruiting new board members and delegating tasks. I need feedback and input on accounting practices before handing off a bulk of the work. I also need to understand essential reports I should be generating for my board of directors so I can better mobilize them to fundraise. A board development and training workshop is tentatively planned for this fall. While passing along good practices as I delegate tasks is important, so being able to properly convey our fundraising needs.
Project plan
Our mission
Protecting the public health and natural resources of the Arkansas Ozark watershed through advocacy, education, and research.
What we do
Arkansas Ozark Waterkeeper, Inc serves the watershed by organizing efforts, providing an accessible and knowledgeable respondent to environmental concerns, advocating for water quality, educating decision makers and the general public in water-related concerns, and conducting research to better characterize and assess the quality of our waterbodies. While most of Arkansas Ozark Waterkeeper, Inc primary objectives have statewide implications, such as supporting research and advocating for better water quality standards that are both scientifically defensible and protective of swimmable, drinkable and fishable uses, many objectives necessitate waterbody and regional approaches specific to localized threats.
Testimonials
Shea was incredibly helpful in breaking down the information I needed to know about how to best organize our Chart of Accounts. He provided useful links, tips, and created instructional manuals to walk us through questions we had with QuickBooks. Above all else, he was extremely professional and kept the ball rolling for this project, providing timely checkins and updates about progress and work to be done. It was a pleasure working with Shea.
Jessie was wonderful to work with and was very understanding of my university schedule. I appreciate her patience and humility throughout this entire project, and I wish White River Waterkeeper the best of luck moving forward.
