Strategic Plan
Strategic Plan
Project details
What we need
- Analysis of the Organization’s current needs, long-term goals, programs, competitive standing and resources
- Recommendations for an appropriate course of action to reach the desired objectives, including allocation of resources and how to measure success
- Plan outlining the resources and steps required to reach short- and long-term goals
What we have in place
- We currently have an engaged Strategic Planning Committee composed of Trustees, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have substantial market research from past strategic planning and branding efforts, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $12,550 , allowing us to double the number of educational programs we bring directly to under-served children at local Head Start Centers, Stony Brook Children's Hospital, the South Shore Homeless Shelter and other agencies.
Five years ago, the Children's Museum of the East End (CMEE) completed a strategic plan that helped it achieve unprecedented growth. For example, the current plan helped the Museum envision a satellite location that will enable it to reach many more under-served families. With the satellite prepared to open in 2019, how can CMEE assure its success? This is one of many questions the Museum wishes to answer during a new strategic planning process. The new plan will help us assess our current needs and competitive standing, re-engage a variety of stakeholders, and establish benchmarks for ensuring our future growth.

Our mission
To spark imagination and foster learning for children of all backgrounds and abilities and to build strong connections within the East End community by providing playful experiences.
What we do
We are a community hub for children and families to learn through play. The Children's Museum serves a diverse audience with interactive exhibitions, classes, events and performances for children ages 0 to 9 and their families. In addition, Museum educators travel to social service agencies and community organizations throughout the region to bring programs to underserved families who couldn't otherwise access the Museum's educational resources.
