Communication Materials Audit
Communication Materials Audit
Project details
What we need
- Thorough review of the existing communication and marketing materials to ensure writing is understandable, engaging and consistent
- Edits conducted with respect to writing style, voice, length, and proper spelling and grammar
- Revised materials should adhere to branding, communications and marketing goals
Additional details
We would like a style sheet to help us with future pieces. If we make program specific materials we want them to be within the "CHUM look" so that people know they are from us.
What we have in place
- We currently have program specific and general communication material, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a website, social media, e-news, annual reports, news articles and a strategic plan, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $3,002 , allowing us to Secure about $21,000 in additional food donations to our food shelf.
CHUM is Duluth, MN's primary safety net organization with a focus on meeting basic needs (food and shelter), fostering stable lives (supportive services for people to get housing, health care, public resources), and organizing/advocacy for legislation and programs to reduce the impact of poverty. It's a complex mission, and we need to do a better job of explaining the whole. We have a tremendous community reputation, but most only know of us through one program (say the food shelf), but don't know that we also work with the hospitals on coordination, quality and transition of care for people experiencing homelessness.

Our mission
CHUM is people of faith working together to provide basic necessities, foster stable lives and organize for a just and compassionate community.
What we do
We are Duluth's primary safety net for people experiencing homelessness and hunger. We operate one of MN's few 24-hour emergency shelters for individuals and families (and a limited number of companion animals). Our Food Shelf distributes about 7,500 5-day food packages a year, and we are the service provider at the Steve O'Neil Apartments for families with children who have experienced recurrent or long-term homelessness. Our advocacy work is focused on state and local policy change to improve the lives of people living in poverty, or otherwise marginalized from the dominant culture. Our 43 member congregations provide most of the financial and volunteer resources to keep our programs humming!
