Ideas on ways to improve the survey for next year
What we have in place
- We currently have essay results in excel, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a dedicated baord member, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $3,196 , allowing us to to spend more money on academic and music teachers to help our children continue to improve in school and experience the joy, confidence and leadership benefits that come from playing in music groups.
This data will give us important information about how our program is doing. We can use the results to improve our programs in the future. Also we can use the results to show potential funders the impact we are making in the Haitian immigrant community here in Boston.
Project plan
Our mission
IMMIGRANT FAMILY SERVICES INSTITUTE strives to address the academic and personal challenges confronting our immigrant children by providing targeted support and enrichment services as a way to maximize their potential in school and beyond. IFSI also advocates for immigrants by reducing barriers to accessing services and works with immigrants most affected by recent changes to immigration legislation including Temporary Protective Status (TPS). IFSI also advocates for immigrants' rights and access to services including health care, education, housing and other social services.
What we do
IFSI-USA offers three well attended and growing children's programs. PLUS+ afterschool serves roughly 40 immigrant children with academic tutoring and musical instrument instruction. PLUS+ weekend offers academic tutoring, college prep and musical ensemble instruction. PLUS+ summer offers full day academic and enrichment programming including a middle school STEAM curriculum.
For adults, IFSI offers workshops and services around immigration concerns including alternative paths to citizenship and rights as well as parent workshops.
Testimonials
Jack was amazing! Not only did he complete the data analysis in half the time allotted, he went well beyond expectations by providing valuable feedback on survey design and by teaching me how to use Pivot tables in Excel so I can perform my own data analysis in the future. Jack was a great communicator and set up our meetings with clear agendas. IFSI gained valuable insight from the data analysis and learned a great deal on how to improve the entire process in the future! THANK YOU Jack!
Beyond being very easy to work with, Phyllis provided clear instructions to help focus my support efforts. Her engagement and collaboration enabled us to complete the work much faster than anticipated.
