What we'd like to talk about
I'd like advice on effective email communications- we have a lot of info packed into 2 eblasts/week- I seek effective ways to communicate with member orgs while keeping them informed
Additional context
I need help with formulating a stronger communications strategy in general, and I'm starting with the eblast since it's our highest occurring comms tool. I've gone through many iterations and tried different things (eliminated table of contents helped). We have a lot of problems with keeping things concise- in our work, details and background matter- and because of our position in our field, we have to cater to many interests- it often seems like everything is top priority! How can I highlight everything necessary while keeping content light and accessible? How many times can something be included before it becomes too diffuse? Here are links to our most recent eblast newsletters: https://conta.cc/2wJjuz8 https://conta.cc/2Plyon7
"Phone calls" are 1 hour, one-time calls with an organization. Learn the difference between volunteering on a Phone call and a Project here.
Our mission
HSC strengthens New York's nonprofit human services sector, ensuring New Yorkers from all walks of life, across diverse neighborhoods, cultures, and generations reach their full potential.
What we do
HSC's goal is to better the lives of all New Yorkers so they can reach their full human potential. We do this by strengthening New York's nonprofit human services industry, an economic engine in which the City and State collectively invest $5.8 billion in funding annually. HSC supports these nonprofit agencies, their workers, and their clients by being their champion.
HSC understands the sector's needs and works to raise awareness of the contributions made and difficulties faced by our organizations and the clients we serve. We work with the sector, government partners, academia, and other allies to achieve systemic change that improves the quality of life for New Yorkers by strengthening the advocacy and service capacity of the sector.
