Project details

What we need
  • Customized Excel Training session(s) for up to 5 people over the course of 1-2 days
  • Sessions may be broken up into Beginner, Intermediate, and/or Advanced
  • Sample topics may include: formulas, commonly used functions, autofill, sorting and filtering, freezing, hiding, and grouping, formatting tips, keyboard shortcuts, pivot tables, charting and graphing, print readiness, collaborative work issues, and overall best practices
What we have in place
  • The staff is excited and maybe just a bit nervous about getting started. Our excel skills range from getting started to just beyond basic operations.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,174 , allowing us to purchase 232 boxes of food our volunteers will deliver to the needy in our community.

Our staff needs to advance our rudimentary excel skills in order to gain efficiencies in all aspects of our organization. This includes logistics, food operations, volunteer management, recipient management and financials.

Our mission

Jewish Relief Agency (JRA) serves over 6,000 diverse low-income individuals across Greater Philadelphia by relieving hunger, improving lives, and strengthening our community.

What we do

Jewish Relief Agency (JRA) was founded in 2000 with three volunteers and one van, delivering food to 19 households in need. With a network of 10,000 volunteers built over 16 18 years, JRA provides food and support to approximately 3,200 low-income households in the Greater Philadelphia region. As a trusted provider of food and supportive services, JRA reaches many of Philadelphia's most vulnerable, and often isolated, individuals and families. JRA aims to ease the everyday burdens of poverty for our recipients, helping them achieve food security and move toward self-sufficiency.

JRA's work is fueled by our volunteers who serve those in need by packing and delivering boxes of food, giving seniors and the disabled rides to the doctor and grocery store, making friendly visits to isolated members of the community, and so much more. All of our volunteers, who come from many backgrounds, faiths, ages, and abilities, are united by a commitment to helping those in need. Through community service, JRA nourishes body and soul.
