What we'd like to talk about

We are looking for someone who has experience with Gutenberg, or an option about it one way or the other.

Additional context

Gutenberg seems to be unavoidable once WP 5.0 comes around. Trying out, we were playing around with Gutenberg in WP with the plug-in.

Once you get the hang of it, Gutenberg allows us to quickly change the layout and look of a theme. It looks promising. We are looking for someone who can advise us if it is a good idea to use Gutenberg for our new microsite already. Or if we should wait for its official launch and then may be wait a few months, for all the bugs to be worked out. If you have an opinion about Gutenberg, we would love to hear from you.

"Phone calls" are 1 hour, one-time calls with an organization. Learn the difference between volunteering on a Phone call and a Project here.

Our mission

Kokua Mau's vision is a community where the people of Hawai`i are treated with dignity, compassion and love throughout their lives. (This is Kokua Mau's highest aspiration.)

To make that vision a reality, our mission is to weave a lei of caregiving and support so that the people of Hawai`i facing serious illness can live in the place of their choice, with relief of pain and suffering, and according to their values, beliefs and traditions.

What we do

Kokua Mau has a three-fold approach to achieving our goals.

1. We support people who may be facing serious illness and their loved ones by providing information to help them understand decisions they may need to make and find resources and information in our community.
2. We provide education and networking to professionals.
3. Bringing about policy and systems change. We partner with hospitals and health plans to advise, advocate, train and educate for change.
4. Providing relevant up-to-date information about COVID-19 for our network kept us incredibly busy for over a year.

We're launching an ambitious program to increase our impact by getting our community talking about people's wishes for care where they work, live and pray. We'll need to develop appropriate messages and campaigns for Hawaii's diverse and vibrant population.

Testimonials

We had a great conversation! Peter's feedback was focused on each issue we wanted to discuss. he was very flexible with his time to schedule our talk. His reassurance that we will be fine with the switch to WP 5.0 was great and stress reducing. It is wonderful to be able to talk to and expert and run our ideas and many open questions by him. He had quite a few suggestion on which theme to use (free and paid themes) and it will be make the implementation of our microsite much easier. I highly recommend a on hour consultation with Peter.
