Board Recruitment Strategy
Board Recruitment Strategy
Project details
What we need
- Assessment of specific Organizational needs mapped to specific board roles
- Outline of ideal board structure and opportunities for new roles
- Candidate evaluation guide for prospective board members
- Marketing tools and guidance on how to execute recruitment
- Note: This project does not include actual board recruitment on the part of the Professional
What we have in place
- We currently have strategic plan, mission and vision that will help guide the board recruitment strategy. Several of our Board members have been involved with the organization since its inception and have good historical knowledge of our organization's growth. We also have strong staff support to help provide any additional needed information. Our Board has affirmatively approved engagement in this process and each Board member has committed his or her availability to support the plan development.
How this will help
This project will save us $11,395 , allowing us to double our production of Wild Seed, our annual magazine that educates people on the importance of native plants in our world.
We are a relatively new organization and are still learning the ropes in a variety of areas. Our Board strategy has been happenstance rather than proactive, and our current Board members have been serving for many years. A board recruitment strategy will allow us to strengthen our Board with a variety of expertise aligned with our strategic plan and goals, and support our succession planning. It will also help ensure the sustainability of our organization over the long-term, with strong leadership and guidance from the Board level.
Project plan
Our mission
The goal of Wild Seed Project is to build awareness of the vital importance of native plants and to provide people with the tools to restore biodiversity in their own communities.
What we do
We equip community members, public officials and municipalities, and land-holding individuals and organizations - from farmers to land trusts - with the skills and resources they need to collectively repopulate landscapes with native plants that expand wildlife habitat, support biodiversity, and build climate resilience.
