What we have in place
- We currently have compelling stories, visuals, and a dedicated team, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a track record for thinking outside of the box, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $6,027 , allowing us to provide more scholarships to people financially and emotionally devastated by cancer to participate in our programs.
It's been five years since our first tribe of cancer patients and survivors stepped beyond their stories of cancer to volunteer in India. Since then more than 150 participants have joined A Fresh Chapter for life-changing experiences in India, South Africa, Peru, Costa Rica, and the U.S. We are seeking a talented volunteer with PR/Media experience to help us develop a compelling press-kit. Your creative ideas for capturing our work and your insights for pitching media will help us expand our reach and multiply our impact.
Project plan
Our mission
Our mission is to help people make sense of the complex emotions of cancer and give them the tools, support, and community to thrive -- even in the midst of challenging circumstances.
What we do
A Fresh Chapter (AFC) is a survivor-led organization that is changing the landscape of cancer support around the globe. We bridge the gap in cancer by care by focusing on the whole person -- not just their disease. Through our peer-facilitated virtual and in-person programs, we use a skills-based approach to address the emotional aftermath of cancer while empowering patients, survivors, and caregivers to move forward with resilience and purpose. Our programs cover a range of themes including navigating uncertainty, living in contradiction, and finding perspective, and are available free of charge to individuals impacted by all types and stages of cancer around the world.
