Event Photography
Project details
What we need
- A photographer who will attend the Organization's event to take photos
- A set of professionally edited, high-resolution images delivered in a digital format suitable for web or print use
- Note: The photographer needs to be available in the same geographical location as the Organization or be willing to travel at own expense
Additional details
We would love someone who has an interest in urban agriculture, historic conservation, or both. The event to be photographed (on Saturday August 4th) is an annual event held at a community orchard planted on the grounds of an historic mansion in Fairmount Park. Digital photography *only* is required, we do not wish to have any print photos from this event.
What we have in place
- We currently have a well-established event in a beautiful setting, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have program partners who can amplify content, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,998 , allowing us to plan more events that engage the community and highlight the park's history.
The success of our organization depends on community-lead public space projects. Without your help, we cannot invite people to get more involved in our work. Your skills will empower us to share a compelling story to the community.
Project plan
Our mission
Fairmount Park Conservancy exists to champion Philadelphia's parks. We lead capital projects and historic preservation efforts, foster neighborhood park stewardship, attract and leverage investments, and develop innovative programs throughout the 10,200 acres that include Fairmount Park and more than 200 neighborhood parks around the city.
What we do
The Conservancy works in three primary ways to make Philadelphia's parks better:
1) We activate the parks by designing innovative programs and amenities that bring people from all walks of life together in our city's common spaces for exercise, entertainment, education and rejuvenation. We help make the parks a destination.
2) We improve thousands of acres of public lands and the structures within them. Our projects include restoration and preservation of natural lands and historic buildings as well as new construction on sports fields, trails, neighborhood parks, and playgrounds. We partner with the city in stewarding Philadelphia's 10,200 acres of parkland.
3) We engage with communities all over the city to enrich our park programs and investments. We leverage volunteers and private funding to make our public parks even better.
Testimonials
Jana was great to work with! She was easy to communicate with, and provided us with very compelling photographs that will allow us to tell the stories we were hoping to share. She captured some astounding portraits, some wonderful landscape/interior shots, and great action-packed photographs from our event, and provided the final photos to us promptly. We are grateful for her efforts and would recommend her without reservation!
It was a pleasure working with Kim, Ed, and Melissa. Great communication! I had a great time photographing for the Fairmount Park Conservancy. I look forward to attending future My Philly Park events.
