Employee Handbook
Employee Handbook
Project details
What we need
- Audit of existing Employee Handbook, or internal communications regarding employment policies
- Edit or creation of a new Employee Handbook, which may include any of the following: Standards of Conduct, Work Schedules, Leave Policies, Termination Policies, Safety and Security, Anti-Discrimination policies, Compensation and Benefits policies, any Non-Disclosure Agreements or Conflict of Interest statements that may apply, and any other pertinent information
Additional details
Help crafting language for diversity, equity, and inclusion that goes beyond just strict anti-discrimination policy.
What we have in place
- We currently have a handbook ready for review, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have staff motivated to bring our policies into the 21st century, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $1,955 , allowing us to focus on our mission of supporting the entire charitable nonprofit community, while also being a great place to work!
Aside from minor tweaks here and there for compliance purposes, our organization's employee handbook hasn't changed in 15 years. We're undertaking a big effort to make the handbook better reflect today's realities, with employees using their own devices, having full-time remote workers, and ensuring our employee handbook reflects our organization's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. We have the broad framework of a handbook, which comes via our outsourced HR provider, but we are looking for someone to bring real-world experience to help us ensure we're not missing anything.
Project plan
Our mission
To advance the vital role, capacity, and voice of charitable nonprofit organizations through our state and national networks.
What we do
The National Council of Nonprofits (Council of Nonprofits) is a trusted resource and proven advocate for America's charitable nonprofits. Connecting the policy dots across all levels and branches of governments, the Council of Nonprofits keeps nonprofits informed and empowered to create a positive public policy environment that best supports nonprofits in advancing their missions. Working with and through the nation's largest network of nonprofits - with 25,000-plus organizational members - we identify emerging trends, share proven practices, and promote solutions that benefit charitable nonprofits and the communities they serve.
Testimonials
Glenn has been wonderful. His expertise was exactly what we needed on this project. Not only did he bring his legal expertise, but he also brings the vision of real-world applicability, which helped make a document as dry as an employee handbook into something more engaging for our new employees.
National council was very responsive and engaged - a pleasure to work with.
