What we need
- A proof-of-concept Android app prototype
- Documentation of the functionality and how users will use the new app

Consultation on how to publish and maintain the app, as well as resources for finding assistance moving forward

Note: The Mobile app will be a functional prototype but will not be production ready with full user experience (i.e. visual design, animation, etc). Here are some examples of mobile app prototypes: Real Change, SF Trees.
What we have in place
- We currently have a working website with calendar and information on it, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a staff person dedicated to this project, in addition to a full time summer intern, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $14,612 , allowing us to put that money into books, signage and other support materials for the program.
The Mayor's Summer Reading Club is a storytelling program for children birth to 5 years old, and is based on kids and parents interacting with the same books multiple times. This app would enable better parent interaction and understanding of the importance of reading to children starting at birth.

GEEARS' mission is to support high-quality early learning and healthy development for Georgia's youngest children from birth to five by championing policies, promoting innovative and evidence-based practices and building public will. We work across the state of Georgia to align and mobilize key stakeholders in the business, civic, and legislative communities as well to engage providers, parents, and other advocacy organizations for collective impact. In addition, we create statewide public awareness of the importance of high quality early education through a campaign strategy that includes paid, earned, and social media. Our policy agenda includes a focus on funding and investments, quality improvements and systems change through innovation, and access and affordability of health care and high quality programs.
GEEARS is proud to be a leading advocate, thought partner and information source on early education in Georgia.
