Project details

What we need
  • A Salesforce database including: a customized set of Salesforce objects, single-record editing of data and field history tracking (up to 15 object types), a customized set of views to allow table-based editing of data (up to 15 views), a customized set of reports to pull data from multiple object types (up to 15 reports)
  • Migration of Organization's current database to Salesforce
  • Training for designated staff member on new objects, reports and views
  • “Hand-off” documentation on the object schemas and any custom code
Additional details

The next phase of this project will be implementing integrations that include an app for our grant application, as well as an online gift processor. Someone who has knowledge and interest in possibly continuing to work with us on this phase of the project would be fantastic.

What we have in place
  • We are already using another instance of Salesforce (Affinaquest) so already have general Salesforce experience. I'm the current admin, and would be the contact person for this project. I'm very comfortable with the basics and look forward to working with someone who can help us move on to the next phase!
How this will help
This project will save us $22,852 , allowing us to provide 3-4 grants to young adult cancer survivors trying to get back on their feet post-treatment (for rent, medical bills, health insurance premiums, etc.).

Moving our data into the Salesforce NPSP will make a tremendous difference in our technology usage as an organization; not only will it be easier for us to integrate other apps we need, but it will save us both money and time. We will be spending less time organizing and importing data, and more time utilizing and sharing it with our donors.

Our mission

The Samfund is designed to help young adults recover from the financial impact of cancer treatment.

What we do

The Samfund currently provides three programs to help young adults get back on their feet after treatment:

1. Direct financial assistance: since 2005, close to $1.5 million in grants has been awarded to young adults across the country, covering a wide range of needs including living expenses, medical expenses, mental and physical health and wellness, family-building, and many more.

2. Online support: The Samfund hosts a free Webinar series called "Moving Forward With Your Financial Health," designed to provide concrete and reliable information and resources surrounding a range of practical and financial issues, including employment, insurance, medical debt and more. Webinar presentations are made by financial professionals as well as representatives from other cancer organizations.

3. Finances 101: A toolkit for young adults with cancer: Launched at the end of 2014, this new program is designed to help young adults make better-informed financial decisions during and after cancer treatment so that their financial recovery doesn't become a lifelong struggle. The toolkit is currently comprised of blog posts and Webinars on selected topics, and we are currently in the process of designing an interactive decision-making tool that will be housed on our website.

Through these programs, The Samfund helps young adults get back on their feet so that they can move forward towards their goals.

Testimonials

Tiffany was an absolute delight to work with. She was incredibly responsive, smart, helpful, and made this process as painless as possible! She created any custom objects or fields that we needed, configured everything in Salesforce appropriately, and did all the importing herself. We worked closely together on figuring out what belonged where and obviously all the cleaning happened on this end, but she did an incredible job and totally exceeded my expectations. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Salesforce Database Customization Project

The SAMFund has been a great organization to work with. Michelle was very articulate with the organization's needs and very responsive to questions I had when developing their system and uploading their data. We worked together very well to complete all customization and data uploads and overall the project went very smoothly. I look forward to continuing to have a partnership with this wonderful organization.
