Project details

What we need
  • Updates and/or fixes to the Organization’s existing website (e.g., update copy or images, fix bugs, integrate plugins or widgets, customize styles/themes, etc.)
  • Training for the Organization's staff on how to update website content and resolve minor issues (if applicable)
Additional details

There are a few "blocks" of pages on our website that are way too big! (i.e. you get to that page and it looks like there's nothing there, but there is, you just need to scroll -- but people don't know that!) We'd like for those blocks to be smaller. This is probably included in the first deliverable, but it's the most important thing, so we just want to make sure!

What we have in place
  • We did our own website audit and have detailed the changes we would like to make to the site. We can send you our admin log-in information, so you can play around the back-end of the site. We also have tons of resources on our server, but no where yet to put them on our site.
And we have a network of 700+ schools with learning gardens that would benefit from a clearer and easier-to-use website for digital support.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,762 , allowing us to Give away a variety of seedlings in 3 boroughs to help our school gardens get started next year.

Grow to Learn has gone through a few website redesigns over the years, and we're learning as we go. We have a really small staff (3 full time folks) and a large reach (700+ schools in all five boroughs in NYC, and growing!), so we are aiming for a website that is clear and informative, so we can send people directly to different pages on our site without spending a ton of time explaining.

Project plan

P

Milestone 2: Review Updates
  • Professional makes the requested updates and/or fixes to the website (if available, the changes should be made in a test or development environment first)
  • Volunteer Manager reviews each update or fix, and reports any remaining issues to the Professional (e.g., typos in new copy, bugs that were not fixed, new bugs that were created by the updates, etc.)
3
Milestone 3: Implementation of Updates
  • Professional implements updates and/or fixes to the live website
  • Professional troubleshoots any issues that may arise immediately after implementing changes on the live site
4
Milestone 4: Training

Kim is stellar! She was able to take our vision for a redesigned website and execute it to create a website that is clear, informative and easy to use. Website Update Project

It was truly a joy collaborating with Grow to Learn to help revamp their website to match their vision with a fresh new look and improve on the usability of their website. Arielle was so kind, patient and very easy to communicate with throughout the entire process. Would definitely love to work with them again in the future. Can’t say enough good things about this organization!
