Our mission

Connecticut Legal Services is a nonprofit law office dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable people by providing access to justice.

What we do

The most vulnerable members of our communities can't afford the legal help they need in life-changing situations.

CLS responds with free legal assistance and advocacy to help vulnerable people meet their basic needs and escape poverty. Across the state of Connecticut, we represent low-income people in more than 5,000 cases every year. We win restraining orders for domestic violence victims; protect the elderly from unfair evictions; and obtain educational services for disabled children.

We believe that Connecticut can be the first state with universal access to justice - a place where every person is treated fairly and has equal opportunities to thrive.

Testimonials

Robin was both organized and creative in developing design solutions. She is a great listener who took our input and turned it into compelling design possibilities. She also went far above and beyond the call of duty in connecting us with printers and even foregoing a paycheck with one printer to get us free printing services. We're really pleased with the product, and so grateful to Robin for her work.

Print Materials Design Project

I really wanted to work on this project because it really meant something to me. I not only donated my design time, I also gave up a paycheck to print the posters.
