What we'd like to talk about
I'd like strategic advice on structural options to transition from project to independently operating nonprofit. We would likely retain a fiscal agent but I would like to better understand options.
Additional context
We are a funders collaborative that has been operating for six years as part of a larger nonprofit. As our work and reach has grown, this has become problematic as we need more operational independence, branding and continued neutrality. I'd like to better understand nonprofit models including supported organizations, and how we might attain some independence without full infrastructure requirements.
