Website User Interface (UI)
Website User Interface (UI)
Project details
What we need
- Overhaul of the UI on the Organization's existing website, or UI design for a new website
- Clear map of website’s structure with wireframes to accompany the layout; wireframes may include homepage, content navigation page and content presentation templates
- Flowcharts or specifications for the interactive features of the website
What we have in place
- We recently created an organizational playbook that guides everything that we do, why we do it, and how we should talk about it. From that playbook, we've developed overviews of each program area of our organization, highlighting the context of the issues, what we're doing to solve these issues currently, and our plan to scale our solutions. From these documents we can derive much of what we want to talk about on our website and how. We've also roughly outlined the pages that we'll want on the site, and many correspond to those on our current website.
How this will help
This project will save us $11,946 , allowing us to train 100 Community Education Volunteers who work alongside our Fellows to enroll out-of-school children back in school and to improve the quality of education they receive.
For the first several years of existence, BT heavily focused on providing access to education through construction of new primary schools and our website reflected that. With the success of our Fellows program over the last few years, BT now places greater emphasis on our impact through working with the community to provide inclusive, quality education once the school is built. This part of our model has the greatest impact potential and is the most scalable, thus a redesign of our website with that focus is needed to attract donors and partners to help us hone our interventions for scale.
Project plan
Our mission
Building Tomorrow galvanizes communities to support thriving schools in underserved areas.
What we do
Building Tomorrow improves access to child-friendly, community-supported schools by providing an inclusive, quality education for underserved children in East Africa. Through our Thriving Schools program, we deploy Building Tomorrow Fellows who recruit and train Community Education Volunteers, together bringing out-of-school children into the classroom while working with school leadership to ensure access to a quality, inclusive school environment. We also work hand-in-hand with local communities, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Education to construct new primary schools where no formal primary school exists.
Testimonials
Dorina was a great volunteer to work with. She was very professional and friendly, communicated well throughout the project and delivered exactly what we needed. I was impressed by how she took the time to really understand our organization and our website needs in depth through her initial discovery process with us. That process went a long way towards Dorina producing high quality wireframe content that required minimal feedback and few changes to get to where we were happy with the look and could finalize and move on to the next webpage to wireframe. We were also very pleased with the creative, yet organized style Dorina was able to bring to the wireframing, which also contributed to us often having minimal feedback or changes for her to make before finalizing. Finally, Dorina stayed on top of the project throughout, and it was never a struggle to communicate with her nor a long wait to receive new wireframes or edits to review. In all, I would highly recommend Dorina as a volunteer.
It was a pleasure to work with Eric and Building Tomorrow. From the beginning, he was engaging and very clear in articulating their requirements and provided all the information that I required to get the job done. He was also very patient and accommodating in working around my schedule. This made the whole process run smoothly. I would highly recommend Eric and Building Tomorrow to others, and would be happy to engage with them again in future.
